Melvin Awuor Birth Date: July 2, 2012 Melvin is one of the many children that are a part of the Echoes of Mercy Program that reaches out to impoverished and orphaned children. Touch the World partners with Echoes of Mercy to help care for these children. Moses Omondi is the founder and director of Echoes of Mercy. Melvin’s parent’s are peasant farmers and also work on people’s farms to gain some income. They can hardly provide three meals a day for their family. Their wages which is less than a dollar a day can barely meet their children’s basic needs. The poverty level in their household hinders Melvin’s achievement at school because his attendance is poor due to lack of school fees. Melvin loves reading and playing football. For only $25 per month you will feed, clothe, and take care of the basic needs of this child. “This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father, to visit the orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” James 1:27 |
